JOY

The scrolls are joyous, which is life-affirming.

Who are we? What are we? Where are we going?

It happens mysteriously. When thought to be there, it isn't. And when not. . .it's suddenly there! To be responded to. Never controlled. It creates itself. And I'm as transparent as the prairie wind. Unrestrained by dogma and rules. It is what it is. Spontaneous.

Bringing forth freedom and energy.

A celebration of mind and spirit.

In feelings of wonder.

Singing and dancing.

Self-awareness.

Felt in the gut.

A meditation.

Imagination.

Humility.

It mirrors Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Rembrandt, Goya, Shakespeare and others. Minds reflecting the mystery of soul. A contemplative form. Open-ended and never closed. Constantly evolving and changing. In acts as fast as the mind itself. Caught-up in a flow. Being fully alive in the moment. Beauty.

Happening in spite of oneself instead of oneself.

The flow…is as effortless as riding a bicycle.

An uncontrived and natural act.

Simply being alive.

Celebrating life.

Instinctive.

Laughing.

Heartfelt.

Prayer.

Grace.

God.

The poem to read is: "The Puritan,"  by Karl Shapiro.
